Got weekend plans? Now you do! This week, one of Adelaide’s very favourite events is back, as the South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA) return to the Adelaide Central Market for a limited-time scone pop-up, and it’s every bit as delicious as it sounds.
For just two days, this Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th, the community group will take over the Community Kitchen, serving up their famous freshly baked scones, alongside jars of homemade jam and take-home scone mix. It’s a rare city treat from a group best known for their tireless support of women and families across South Australia.
If you’ve ever tried a SACWA scone, you’ll know they don’t last long. The pop-up is open until 7pm Friday and 3pm Saturday, or until sold out, which we predict is very likely.
At this weekend’s scone pop-up, every dollar raised supports SACWA’s mission to improve the welfare and living conditions of women and children around the state. From remote communities to inner-city families, this is the perfect way to support a good cause.
With decades of history behind them, the SACWA continues to prove that simple things, like a good scone and a strong community, never go out of style. So grab your nearest and dearest, check out the scones, and browse the stunning Central Market while you’re there. They’ve got heaps on at the moment, with their Illuminate event, ‘Proximity State by Miles Dunne’ on until July 19th, and lots of fun events to get the kids involved over the school holidays.
