SALA Moving Image Project 2011

During the 2011 SALA Festival Adelaide Festival Centre turns into an exciting hub for moving image. The SALA Moving Image Project, in the Artspace Gallery, will be complemented by nightly projections onto the building’s stunning facades, as well as inspiring installations and video works throughout the Adelaide Festival Centre until 28 August 2011.

Bringing together eight contemporary South Australian moving image artists the Artspace Gallery Exhibition features works in many different forms including video installation art, sculpture, sound and projections. From 6pm every night of the week Adelaide Festival Centre’s sails will come to life with projections featuring the work of 10 South Australian artists.

Showcasing a range of high quality film works, pixilation art, experimental videos, enticing installation and performances, the SALA Moving Image Project 2011 is set to make its mark by engaging with unsuspecting audiences and presenting art in public spaces not usually used to exhibit art.

Penny McAuley, SALA Festival General Manager, says 'The SALA Festival is delighted to present and celebrate the hub of the 2011 Moving Image Project here at South Australia's creative heart, the Adelaide Festival Centre. This partnership reflects our commitment to be inclusive, to provide access and create opportunity for all; a true collaboration that benefits our community and enriches our visual arts culture'.
