Salisbury woman’s ecstatic million-dollar win on a bus surprises commuters while another local is unaware of their $2.5m prize

A Salisbury woman’s joyful screams filled a bus as she realized her $1 million lottery win, while across town, a West Lakes local remains oblivious to their own $2.5 million fortune.

A Salisbury woman experienced a life-altering moment on a public bus this week, as she discovered her $1 million lottery win through Weekday Windfall. The moment of realisation brought joyous screams from the lucky winner, turning an ordinary bus ride into a celebration. This Adelaide resident was the sole winner of division one in the Weekday Windfall draw 4500, which was held on Monday, January 27th, 2025.

On the other side of town, an intriguing mystery unfolds as another local from West Lakes remains unaware of their $2.5 million windfall. This unidentified individual secured one of two division one winning tickets in the Saturday X Lotto draw 4541, which took place on January 25th, 2025.

The Salisbury woman purchased her winning 14-game QuickPick entry through The Lott’s official app. In contrast, the unclaimed ticket from West Lakes was bought at the West Lakes Lotteries Kiosk. Despite registration with The Lott Members Club, officials have been unable to reach the West Lakes winner, as repeated calls have gone unanswered.

At the scene of her sudden fortune, the Salisbury woman shared her overwhelming joy. “Oh my god! I’ve won a million dollars! Thank you so much,” she exclaimed. Describing her state of disbelief and happiness, she added, “I can’t believe it. I’m a millionaire. I’m going to cry. I’m so happy. I’m shaking. I’m on the bus right now and I can’t help but scream to everyone that I’ve won. Gosh. I’m so overwhelmed. I can’t wait to call Mum and Dad.”

Her enthusiastic plans for the future were clear. “I can buy a house! I’ve got my daughter here and we’re so happy. This is everything to us. Thank you so much! I’m rich!” she shared.

Elsewhere, Pat Sepe, the owner of West Lakes Lotteries Kiosk, said “We were so excited! It always gives me great pleasure to see one of my customers strike it big.” He continued, “We’ve had 24 major lottery wins since opening our doors to the community, and our customers always tell us that they think we’re a lucky store.”

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said she was eagerly waiting to speak with the region’s newest multi-millionaire despite repeated attempts to phone the winner going unanswered. “I was ready to reveal the sensational news to Adelaide’s recent division one winner earlier this week, but sadly whenever I called the number provided, it just rang out,” she said.

“If you see a number of missed calls on your phone, you could be the mystery millionaire we’re trying to contact.

“You may not think it’s possible you’re the division one winner we’re searching for, but if you purchased an entry into the recent Saturday X Lotto ticket from West Lakes Lotteries Kiosk that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance!

“We’re urging all X Lotto players to check their entries as soon as possible. If you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket, contact the Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
