South Australia’s COVID-19 cases have jumped, with 2,075 individuals testing positive in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 16,938 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 112 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator.
Of those hospitalised, 64 people are fully vaccinated, 16 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 32 have an unknown vaccination status.

VARIANTS
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID TESTING
Yesterday, 12,125 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 21% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,555 PCR tests were positive, while 520 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
VACCINATION UPDATE
Currently, 94.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 68.2% of eligible South Australians and 56.5% of South Australians aged 16+.
