SA’s COVID-19 cases rise to 1,958 with 14 in ICU

South Australia’s COVID-19 cases have jumped to 1,958 confirmed in the last 24 hours, with 14,119 active cases currently in the state.

South Australia’s COVID-19 cases have jumped to 1,958 confirmed in the last 24 hours, with 14,119 active cases currently in the state.

Hospitalisations have dipped, with 192 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 14 people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 101 people are fully vaccinated, 34 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 57 have an unknown vaccination status.

Yesterday, 10,598 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 20.3% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,521 PCR tests were positive, while 437 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

Variants Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result. *

Vaccination update Currently 95.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.3% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 67% of eligible South Australians and 53.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
