SA’s Largest Tourism & Transport Organisation, Sealink, Sets Sights on China

sideline02SeaLink Travel Group is investing heavily into the Chinese market, appointing Lucy Jin, its first Business Development Executive to be employed outside of Australia to drive growth out of the Greater China market.

General Manager Sales & Marketing, Neil Gould said Ms. Jin’s appointment demonstrated SeaLink’s significant and long term commitment to the Chinese market as well as paving the way for the company’s first Mandarin language SA tour set to begin in April 2011.

“China is the way of the future. Tourism numbers out of China continue to increase dramatically and SeaLink is determined to capitalise on this growth attracting more visitors to Kangaroo Island and other areas of South Australia,” he says.

“SeaLink has the range of products to service this demand from group sightseeing tours by coach to guided small group touring including deluxe 4WD tours and numerous self-drive packages.

“Lucy will be based in the northern China city of Beijing for up to the first twelve months and will be charged with direct sales growth and the establishment of wholesale, retail and online partnerships.

”She will be a great ‘in-market’ resource for SeaLink and as she is fluent in Chinese, Korean and Japanese, will also be responsible for driving growth in Japan and Korea as well as Greater China.”

SeaLink’s businesses include ferry operations to Kangaroo Island and in New Zealand, coach touring, charter, wholesale holiday packaging operations to Kangaroo Island and within South Australia, the operation of three retail travel agencies in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney specialising in Australian rail holidays, SkyLink Airport Shuttle services and a ski holiday transport and packaging business to the Victorian Alps.
