SA’s Most Extravagant Event, d’Arenberg’s Surrealist Ball Returns

With outrageous costumes, incredible wine, unbelievable food, and world-class views, the Surrealist Ball is again being held at the d’Arenberg Cube.

Last year, a new event crept on to South Australia’s calendar as part of Tasting Australia, and before anyone realised what was happening, it was sold out. d’Arenberg was hosting a Surrealist Ball, and with Australia’s quirkiest wine genius, Chester Osborn behind it, in their brand new d’Arenberg Cube, which itself is a surrealist masterpiece, it was bound to be epic. And that it was. Now it’s back for another year.

So what’s it all about? Well the photos from last year’s event speak for themselves, and the wine, well it’s just brilliant. And don’t get us started on the food. The Cube has become one of South Australia’s most amazing foodie destinations since it opened, and its incredible degustations continue to delight visitors from here and abroad. The same magical chefs pull together dazzling canapes for guests to enjoy whilst they float about McLaren Vale’s glass castle.

Then there’s THE COSTUMES. Guests at last year’s event took this to the NEXT LEVEL. It is basically the best of every costume party you’ve ever been to. No pressure. But it’s totally worth it. You’ll be transported into another world for the night.

This year’s Surrealist Ball is again being held as part of Tasting Australia on April 6th.

Be treated to a night of extravagant decadence, a gala event reminiscent of the Rothschild Surrealist Ball, where distinguished guests such as Salvador Dali and Audrey Hepburn explored the boundaries of their imagination. Take inspiration from their 1972 attire, and clothe yourself in an exotic blend of fashion and fantasy – combine the traditional black tie with the weird and wonderful.

Savour the stunning views of McLaren Vale’s rolling vineyards, watch the building come to life as digital projections illuminate the glass exterior. Enjoy d’Arenberg wine and creative canapés prepared by head chefs Brendan Wessels and Lindsay Dürr. Please note dietary requirements are unable to be catered for.

Our tip: Get in quick as tickets won’t last. And when it comes to your outfit, let your imagination go wild.
