SAVE THE DATE: Adelaide’s Most Amazing Long Lunch Returns To The Footbridge

With delicious food provided by some of Adelaide’s best restaurants, and funds raised being donated to two local charities, why wouldn’t you splurge a little bit?

We’re not sure if you remember, but last year’s Adelaide’s Longest Lunch was a smash hit. And we’re expecting big things again this year.

On Friday November 10, the Riverbank Footbridge will play host to the inaugural and aptly named event. Out in the open air with the fresh spray of the Torrens wafting across white linen tables, the second iteration of this event will bring together some of South Australia’s finest chefs, winemakers, brewers, producers and restaurants with an estimated 750 seats available (that’s 150 more than last year!).

All of your favourite restaurants will be in attendance: Andre’s Cucina, Beyond India, Fino, George’s on Waymouth, Hill of Grace Restaurant, Level One – Electra House, Madame Hanoi, Osteria Oggi, Press, Riverside Restaurant, Ruby Red Flamingo, Sean’s Kitchen, Shiki and The Pot have all jumped on board, keen to showcase the best Adelaide has to offer. This is a bold statement towards showcasing the outstanding quality of this state’s food and wine industries, which seem to have been really hitting their stride across of late.

Starting at 11:15am and finishing with an after-party in a secret location (so secret that it won’t be announced until the Lunch has begun), this is certainly one long lunch. With the bridge spanning 270 metres in length, Adelaide’s Longest Lunch encompasses all meanings of the word. The theme of the day is ALL white with a touch of Tennis Elegance and Class, so be sure to find your fanciest tennis whites (but maybe don’t include the tennis shoes).

It seems fitting that the meal of such finery should take place overlooking one of the most dynamically developing precincts of our city. We’d wager that if the $2500 (excl GST) for a table of 10 is a bit steep, the best position to watch from and smell the beautiful food being served would be along the Rooftop Climb at the Adelaide Oval. That’s if you wanted to be cheeky about it. Tickets can also be purchased individually for $250 (plus GST) and this year’s funds will be donated to two local charities – the Ken McGregor Foundation and the State Theatre Company of South Australia. Last year, $30,000 was raised for the Westpac Foundation. and tickets sold out in three weeks, so it’s worth getting in quick!
