Say Goodbye To Your Sleep In – Clipsal Traffic Is About To Get Hectic

RAA warn motorists to leave plenty of time to get into the city ahead of the Clipsal 500.

If you’re driving to work next week, make sure you leave up to 30 minutes earlier to avoid the Clipsal 500 slowdown traffic!

The impact of the road closures varies across the city, with motorists using the major roads on the eastern side of the city experiencing the greatest impact.

Payneham Road and Lower North East Road will be the slowest, taking commuters up to 30 minutes longer to travel than it otherwise would during the peak period, at an average speed of 13km/h.

Magill Road will take, on average, an extra 20 minutes longer than they would normally.

Greenhill Road and The Parade will take 15 minutes longer than normal.

During the road closures, the majority of which begin from Saturday 25 February, RAA recommends motorists use online resources such as the Traffic SA website or the Addinsight app as these sources provides up to the minute information on congestion across the city to help people plan their journeys. They also suggest people consider alternative modes of transport around the Clipsal event, such as cycling, walking, sharing a lift or using public transport.
