Who doesn’t love that buttery, flaky, sweet or savoury taste of a freshly baked scroll, straight from the oven?

When a bakery only specialises in one thing, you know it’s going to be good – and that’s exactly what ScRoll Queen does.

The Moorak store specialises in all things scrolls, and has been baking a selection of deliciously sweet, as well as savoury scrolls fresh daily to their loyal line-up of followers.

“ScRoll Queen started as a side hustle in 2018 to make a little extra cash – born from a passion of self taught baking and spreading joy through great food”, says founder Dylan McQueen.

“I saw a hole in the market in Australia for a REALLY good cinnamon scroll, especially in the ever expanding coffee culture industry here”, he says.

Popular favourites include their classic cinnascroll, with a cinnamon filling and vanilla glaze, as well as their blueberry cheesecake and lamington flavours that provide a delicious sweet-treat every time.

Other flavours include their Tim Tam, Mint Slice, Oreo, Reece’s peanut butter and coffee walnut, with savoury options including their salted rosemary and cheese scroll, making it a must-visit on your next trip to the Limestone Coast.

They even have an option to pre-order one of their ‘scroll towers’, perfect as a birthday cake alternative or indulgent treat for the ultimate scroll-fan!

The popular ScRoll Queen store opened in April 2020 at the Badenochs shopping complex in Moorak, about 1000m from the towns well-known Blue Lake.

“I found a perfect little old shop that needed work and saw the potential in creating a ScRoll Queen store as a tourist destination in Mount Gambier while still maintaining the wholesale business”, Dylan says.

“We have had people coming into our store from all over Australia and other parts of the world seeking out a decent cinnamon scroll and they always leave smiling – that is our job, spreading a little joy through our delicious ScRolls”.

Promising a ‘taste of royalty’, their freshly-made scrolls can also be found across cafes and outlets in Mount Gambier, including Bay Blue Espresso Bar, Bricks and Mortar Coffee Co., The Tuck Shop, Expresso Eatery and Confession Cafe – or order online and purchase from them direct.

“We hope to open a store in Adelaide one day – hopefully sooner rather than later”, says Dylan.

With a flavour for everyone, this bakery is one to put on your list for the next time you hit up the Limestone Coast – we can just smell that sweet, cinnamon goodness calling!
