Sea To Shore is the brand-new seafood festival coming to Glenelg this October

The inaugural Sea To Shore seafood festival will showcase the best of SA produce with curated seafood dishes and South Australian wine and gin.

It’s no secret that South Australia produces some of the finest seafood in the world and now, the best of the best will be celebrated at a new seafood festival to be hosted in Glenelg this October.

The inaugural, Sea to Shore, will take place on Saturday October 29 for a day of indulgence where guests can immerse themselves in delicious, curated seafood dishes and South Australian wine and gin, whilst overlooking the blue waters of one of SA’s favourite coastal destinations.

From 11am, the Glenelg foreshore will be transformed into a harbourside boat club, which will host a number of producers and chefs, each displaying theatrics of wild cooking alongside showcasing delicious seafood dishes.

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor, Amanda Wilson, is looking forward to bringing this festival to Glenelg.

“I’m so excited to launch the inaugural Sea to Shore Glenelg Seafood Festival. South Australia has some of the finest seafood, and it’s a great opportunity to showcase it on the beautiful coastline, for one day,” said Mayor Wilson.

“This is the perfect spot for lovers of seafood, wine and gin to catch up with friends and family during the warm weather, relax on lounge seating and enjoy a selection of local DJs throughout the day and into the evening,” she continued.

Executive Chef Tony Carroll from Fishbank will create a dish using locally sourced Pipis from Goolwa, while Ragini Dey, of Ragini Spice will serve Goan fish curry and seafood samosa.

The team at 2KW will be joining forces with a range of iconic South Australian wineries and distilleries, including Barrio, Riot Wine, Little Bang Brewing and Threefold Distilling, where they will serve delicious beverages, including a range of spritzes, G&Ts, and ales, at a warm and rustic central timber bar.

Deck chairs and cane lounges, all under umbrellas, will be scattered around the foreshore, supplied for guests to sit back and relax in the sunshine, whilst listening to the groovy tunes of various entertainment, including DJ Kai Ward and Felicity Auckett. The foreshore ‘Harbourside Boat Club’ will be adorned with an arbour draped with nautical sisal rope, a white row boat, and bursts of greenery.

As the sun sets on Jetty Road, restaurants and businesses will then take over the street to create the perfect atmosphere for guests to enjoy, as they fill the road with tables and chairs, amazing food and drinks, music and more. A range of seafood-inspired dishes will be on offer including seafood platters, chilli crab pizza, grilled octopus, prawn saganaki, lobsters and seafood pasta, to name a few.

Some of Jetty Road’s well-known businesses involved include Fourth, Cardone’s, Beach Burrito, Caruso’s Fresh Foods, St Louis, as well as Pinot and Picasso who will hold a special seafood-inspired art class. Marina Pier will also join the festivities with the Oyster Bar and Ellenika Restaurant serving seafood delights.
