Red wine and steak, bubbles with breakfast, never drink white after labor day. What! Why? We’ll tell you why and then we’ll tell you why not, and once you know how to break the rules, you may never go back.
Wine tasting is an experience steeped in quality and tradition, as is the process of creating the wine, and who better to guide you through the intricacies of something as seemingly simple as fermented grapes, than those who knew your wine before it was even a twinkle in the vineyard manager’s eye. It’s a family tradition dating back three generations in Australia, and further in the old country of Castellino in Central Italy, and Tony De Lisio (winemaker) with son Anthony are going to show you the art of wine tasting and food matching this Saturday at Stump Hill Gallery, McLaren Vale.
This is an experience you won’t find at any other time of the year, with wines you can’t buy in a bottle shop. De Lisio Wines will be showcasing your favourite varieties with a distinct McLaren Vale flavour, having matched each with the specially designed, exclusively sourced ten-course menu from Chef Robert Yates of Decant Restaurant.
So you’re ready for food and wine matching, you may even have heard of chocolate and wine matching, but have you delved into wine-infused artisan chocolat? De Lisio Wines has collaborated with Chocolat by Daniela to bring you two divine petite fours: ‘The Covert’ Shiraz infused dark chocolat and the ‘Honeypot’ Moscato infused white chocolat. Daniela’s creations will challenge your assumptions about what you expect from chocolat.
Every guest has the chance to win a night at the Clarion Hotel Soho Spa Suite with De Lisio sparkling wine and chocolates in your room, a divine three-course dinner at Decant Restaurant and a cooked breakfast the next morning. Valued at $760!
