Iconic McLaren Vale event Sea & Vines has been retired after a 27 year long run.

The festival was heralded as a celebration of the wine, food, and lifestyle of premier wine region, McLaren Vale, with more than 270,000 attendees over the past two decades.

In recent years, it has been prone to a barrage of negative press, primarily due to the alleged misbehaviour of participants.

The McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association (MVGWTA) announced that from 2020, Sea & Vines will end its run, with the intention to introduce a brand new, in-region event in 2021.
