Comedy cabaret ‘Seasonal Sessions’ to debut at Woodville this Autumn

Seasonal Sessions, Amelia Ryan and Zac Tyler’s new series celebrates the changing seasons. The team of fabulous artists, have created a truly unique event.

Woodville Town Hall is prepped and ready for the acclaimed cabaret artist Amelia Ryan and her husband Zac Tyler’s new series Seasonal Sessions, coming this May.

A seasonal program featuring the very best of original Australian music, cabaret, story, and comedy will debut for Autumn on May 6, 7 and 8.

Amelia and Zac were the powerhouses behind The Queens: Fringe At Its Finest, and Zac is the Artistic Director and Founder of the brand new Barossa Contemporary Festival.

To kick off and lift the mood local, original music will be live on Friday, and Saturday will feature a celebration of Australia’s pioneering women of pop and rock starring Amelia Ryan and Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2022 Icon Award winner Libby O’Donovan in UNSUNG.

Charmaine Jones and the GOSPO Collective will deliver the classic Aretha Franklin standards in Soul Serenade – The Aretha Legacy following the pop and rock performance. On Sunday, 8 May, you can catch the acclaimed writer Clementine Ford and her best friend, Libby O’Donovan, delivering a secular sermon that mines matters of the heart in Love Sermon.

The Woodville Town Hall will create the perfect location and environment for the show. Being a west-side venue, the show is able to contribute to the local arts and bring deserved attention to that side of town.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the Woodville Town Hall to create and curate this brand new live performance offering, with a world-class line-up across four weekends throughout the year; May (Autumn), August (Winter), November (Spring), and February (Summer)”, Amelia Ryan said.

“Being from the west side of the city ourselves, we’ve always been keen to contribute to the local arts scene in a meaningful way. When the opportunity arose to create this series, we jumped at the chance!”

Having spent the last decade producing and performing in various festivals around Australia, Amelia and Zac have created meaningful connections with the incredible artists they met.

“We can’t wait to host them in this beautifully historic venue and create performance opportunities for interstate and local talent alike”, said Amelia Ryan.

The program is designed to evolve with the seasons, so audiences can expect to see a diverse, original and world-class array of music, cabaret and comedy at each planned performance.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support of the City of Charles Sturt and Live Music Australia for helping to make it happen”, Amelia Ryan said.
