Nat Cook MP, Minister for Human Services commented on the second round of pop up centres, saying “Not everyone is able to travel into bigger towns for the assistance the require, so it’s great that we’re able to get our Recovery staff out to these smaller towns along the River.

“Pop-up Recovery Centres were also set up in four of the same locations in April, so I’m very happy we’re able to help meet the demand which is clearly there in these areas.

“Setting up these pop-up Recovery Centres is about making the recovery process a little bit easier for people who’ve already gone through so much.”

SA Housing Trust Presiding Member Mary Patetsos AM said “If you were unable to attend these pop-up Recovery Centres last time, I highly encourage you to head along this time around if you are able.

“The staff at the centres have the expertise to help determine what assistance you require and what you are eligible for, so make sure to visit to the centre to help along your recovery journey.”

Mid-Murray Council Mayor Simone Bailey also made comment, saying “We’re very grateful for the extra support for our communities with additional pop-up recovery centres ensuring communities have local access to face-to-face services.

“Recovery centres have provided so much support to our community already. We encourage anyone who has been affected by the flood devastation to attend a local pop-up recovery centre where they can ask questions and find support and be guided through the various grants and programs by highly experienced, friendly staff.”
