Come one, come all to see some of Australia’s best BBQ teams cook up a storm at this year’s Steak Cookoff Association (SCA) BBQ Competition this weekend.
It’s a well known fact that some of our favourite food groups taste better when cooked on a BBQ, hosts of the SCA BBQ Competition, Austral Meat tend to agree.
Austral Meat is hosting a BBQ competition for the ages that will see Australia’s top cooks battling it out in various delicious categories.
As a spectator of the event, you will be able to witness all of the BBQ goodness showcased within these 5 categories.
2 Steaks where teams are supplied with incredible Stone Axe cuts which happen to be one of Australia’s top Wagyu brands providing the steaks for the event as well as a steak from Kerwee Beef.
Then there are three other creative categories that have a creative element to them, where competitors can cook whatever they choose as long as it is within the brief of the category name.
Now when we say the word Dickbun, what comes to mind? Exactly what we thought, a delicious brioche-style bun made by our very own SA-owned and operated brand. Within this playful category, you have the option to cook a meal with a Dickbun, Dickdog, or Dickbun slider. Suffice it to say, there’s going to be a lot of Dickbun going around.
Then we have the Asian Street Food category as well as the One Bite category where the cooks have the freedom to dip into the dessert sphere since it’s the last category of the day.
The cooks aren’t on their own though, the cooks compete within a team of 4 and will not only include SA natives but interstate challengers as well.
The teams are in it to win it because the winners of each category will receive a Golden Ticket to the world BBQ championships in Texas in March 2023!
And the best part, you will be able to see all of this action for yourself. Entry is free but you are able to enjoy eats from food trucks such as Van Dough and The Filipino Project. You can also be witness to a cooking demo from the team at Atomic Chicken.
