See & Sip: Raise funds for Lifeline in style with SA runway event

South Aussie fashion label hosts charitable runway event for a night of fashion, food, and bubbles, all to help battle mental health in Australia.

Coat + Hanger, new to SA’s fashion scene, invites you to a night of fashion and frivolousness you can feel good about. Founder Dominique has partnered with five other SA fashion labels for an event poised to raise money and awareness for mental health charity Lifeline.

With live entertainment, food and clothing stalls, runway shows and plenty of flowing bubbles, the brand new event will be taking place on 11 September at Antonio’s Warehouse in Windsor Gardens.

Every 30 seconds, a person in Australia reaches out to Lifeline for help. Last year Lifeline received over 1 million calls to their Crisis Line. 1 in 5 calls went unanswered which Dominique hopes to change by raising awareness with this new event.

“Dominique has a strong passion for mental health,” says Madelene, See & Sip’s Marketing Manager.

“We hope to bring to light a taboo topic in a light-hearted environment, so that mental health can be discussed freely.”

“We’re not making any money from this,” continues Madelene. “Everyone is a volunteer, from all the local brands, to the photobooth we’ve organised. All profits are going to Lifeline.”

Emmah Money, Ambassador for the Cure4CF Foundation, and 2020 South Australian of the Year, will be your host for the evening. Having battled with mental health and an invisible disability, no better host would be able to resonate with a cause.

Attendees can expect a half-hour runway showcasing South Australian fashion brands, including:

Whilst viewing the latest trends on the catwalk, food and bubbles will also be available, as well as giveaways, live music by Renaè and Lauren Greco, and clothing stalls so you can shop the latest looks.

Dominique hopes to see her event grow, and to continuously work with like-minded South Australian creatives to support charitable causes.

After closing her boutique on The Parade due to COVID, Dominique launched Coat + Hanger online and crafted her C +H basics range, manufactured right here in Adelaide.

“She’s an Adelaide girl,” Madelene says. “She will always want to work with local brands.”

Tickets for the event are available here for $55.
