If you’re heading to the Fleurieu Peninsula this long weekend, make sure to stop by Hector’s at Goolwa and check out the exciting progress that has been made around it! Located on Goolwa’s heritage-listed wharf, Hector’s has been undergoing big changes as part of the precinct’s multi-million-dollar upgrade – the largest asset restoration project in the Council’s history.
Recently, Hector’s shared exciting news on their Facebook page, saying: “We HAD to share this with our community. The fences are down! We are so excited! No, really, we are dance on the wharf, tears in our eyes excited!”

With the long weekend here and plenty of people down and around Goolwa, Hector’s is encouraging customers to book a table and be among the first to dine on the newly upgraded wharf. The restaurant will be open throughout the long weekend, inviting everyone to come out and support them.
Hector’s is famous in Goolwa for its modern Australian cuisine, offering stunning waterfront views alongside a contemporary dining atmosphere. The menu features classics brekkies items like raisin toast and pancakes, and gorgeous lunches that showcase Goolwa’s famous pipis. The restaurant offers a diverse range of cuisines, including options like grilled lamb souvlaki and house-made spring rolls.

Hector’s is now under the management of four new owners, including Taryn Battye, who began at the restaurant as a chef. Recognising the potential of the area, Taryn and her team jumped on the opportunity to purchase the business last November.
They have reimagined Hector’s as a contemporary dining destination, with plans to create new outdoor spaces ready for the upcoming summer season – perfect for all the visitors during school holidays. Future renovations will focus on the restaurant’s interior to provide a more intimate, high-end dining experience.
If you’re in the area this long weekend, be sure to check out the exciting progress at Hector’s. The restaurant is sure to provide a stunning dining experience right on the riverbank.
