Seeing Double: Two Incredible Winter Festivals Set For Adelaide CBD This Year

Your wildest winter fantasies are about to become a reality this year with two winter festivals

Last year The Social Creative brought the best of the winter season from around the world to Adelaide with Alpine Winter Village. This year, word on the street they’re moving a few blocks downtown to Victoria Square. Freeing up the Torrens Parade Grounds for a brand spanking new festival said to be run by the same peeps behind the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

Both parties are keeping their cards close to their chest. But here’s what we know so far…

Alpine Winter Village was designed to encourage people to get outdoors and into a space outside of the CBD throughout the winter months and you’d have to say they knocked it out of the park in 2016.

Over 100,000 people headed down to the Adelaide Riverbank each day to soak up the minimal sun, ice-skating, live music, and an ever-changing lineup of creative Christmas themed market stalls. There were also bonfires, family friendly entertainment, warm and hearty food, and the Apres Ski Lodge bar for the adults which must have gone through gallons of mulled wine and eggnog.

We can only imagine the new winter festival debuting at the Torrens Parade Ground is going to be sorts of awesome.

Stay tuned for more details. We’ll update you as they come in.
