Settlers Spirits has officially made the iconic d’Arenberg Cube its new home, introducing a unique gin experience to the heart of McLaren Vale. The tasting room offers a panoramic vista that stretches across the picturesque vineyards, providing guests with both aesthetic pleasure and gourmet delight, so now you can not only enjoy d’Arenberg’s award winning wines, but you can also sample some incredible spirits while you’re there too.

Renowned for their established prowess in distillation, Settlers Spirits has been a respected name amongst Australian distilleries, known for both tradition and creativity in their craft. Now housed within the d’Arenberg Cube, Settlers Spirits bring their extensive catalogue of premium spirits, including an impressive selection of twelve gins, ranging from the classic dry to innovative flavoured varieties.

This integration of Settlers Spirits into the d’Arenberg estate follows the mid-2021 acquisition of Settlers by the historic McLaren Vale wine producer. Rowland and Shelley Short, who founded Settlers Spirits in 2018, quickly positioned it as a premier boutique distiller on the national stage. Commenting on the collaboration, Rowland said, “I couldn’t be happier to see d’Arenberg as custodians of Settlers Spirits and to see ownership remain within the McLaren Vale wine region.”

The acquisition was warmly received by Chester Osborn, d’Arenberg’s Chief Winemaker, who praised the diversity and craftsmanship of the Settlers portfolio. “The methodical and detailed blending methods represent a philosophical alignment to what we do here at d’Arenberg,” he noted.

New and seasoned gin aficionados can indulge in this craft spirit offering through guided tastings available at The Amazing Sites Bar within the Cube. For a $20 addition, guests can enjoy a gin flight, choosing between two curated selections. These sessions provide a thorough exploration of the gins, all while soaking in the stunning vineyard views. Tastings are conducted daily from 1pm to 4:30pm, offering a perfect afternoon escape.

Besides the gin experience, The Amazing Sites Bar also provides opportunities to sample the extensive d’Arenberg wine portfolio. Visitors can further enhance their visit with a meal at the Singapore Circus restaurant, located within the Cube. This dining establishment offers a vivid taste of South-East Asia, with options that include shared-style banquet menus, à la carte dishes, and speciality items that need to be booked ahead. It’s an ideal spot for both weekday lunches and relaxing weekend dining, open from noon until the early afternoon.

Now that Settlers Spirits has officially joined the coveted offering at d’Arenberg’s Cube, guests can enjoy a multi-faceted destination that appeals to lovers of fine wines, distinguished spirits, and exquisite food. Whether for an exploration of gin distilling, a wine-tasting venture, or a culinary experience, the d’Arenberg Cube offers a comprehensive experience that can cater to varied tastes and preferences.
