An Extreme Fire Danger warning has been issued for the Yorke Peninsula, and a Severe Fire Danger warning for the North West Pastoral, West Coast and Eyre Peninsula districts.

These are the first Severe or Extreme fire danger ratings for this season.

“The CFS is prepared as it has been every other season,” said Mark Jones, of the Country Fire Service.

Jones also confirmed tomorrow will mark the activation of the State Control Centre for the 2021 bushfire season.

“Stay safe tomorrow, and throughout the rest of the bushfire season,” said Jones.

He urged South Australians, particularly those in at-risk areas, to create a five minute Bushfire Plan, available on the CFS website here.
