Despite a stand out performance by Shakib Al Hasan, the Adelaide Strikers went down to the Sydney Sixers by six wickets at Adelaide Oval last night.
In his debut for the Strikers, Shakib top scored with 46 runs from just 30 balls, and his 80-run partnership with Nathan Reardon (43 from 39) helped the Strikers fightback after a slow start.
Chasing 150 to win, some costly dropped catches allowed the Sixers to gain early momentum.
Shakib was again the catalyst for a Strikers come back, taking 2 for 21 from his four overs.
Michael Neser also slowed the Sixers run rate (0/19 from four overs) but Michael Lumb (54 from 41 balls) steered the visitors home in a man of the match performance.
The Strikers next take on the Melbourne Stars at the MCG on Thursday 9 January.
