Adelaide, prepare yourselves for an absolute ripper of a weekend, because Shannons Adelaide Rally is coming to town for three jam-packed days of action. With nearly 500 cars locked in, Shannons is one of the largest tarmac rallies in the world, and the largest in the southern hemisphere.
Featuring 30 closed-road stages across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, this event is really something to get revved up about. Spread out over three fun-filled days, the rally is all about community spirit, fast cars, and beautiful backdrops.
Hundreds of competitive and non-competitive drivers will get their motors running from Friday, November 21st to Sunday, November 23rd, bringing entertainment to thousands of spectators all around the state. On the hot-list this year is World Rally Championship winner Hayden Paddon, flying in from New Zealand with co-driver John Kennard, and last year’s winner, former Supercars driver turned rally star Alex Rullo. They’re all competing for a jaw-dropping $20,000!
For those keen to get in on the fun, the entertainment starts on Saturday with multiple events across the state. Beginning with the Bridgewater Lunch Stop from 11:30am to 1pm. Here, you’ll be able to see the whole rally field gathered at Bridgewater Oval, then make your way over to the Wairoa Special Stage from 2:45pm to 4:45pm. Then wrap up the day at the Gouger Street Party from 4pm to 8pm.
And for those wanting to get in on more of the motorsport action, they can cheer from the sidelines on spectator stages in Strathalbyn, Wairoa, Aldgate to Stirling, Mount Lofty and more.
On Sunday, the rally stops for a leisurely lunch at Strathalbyn from 10:30am to 3:30pm before finishing up with the North Adelaide Finale and presentations at 3:15pm.
