Autumn in Adelaide brings with it three things: cooler weather, footy and Crab Carnivale at Sean’s Kitchen.
The latter is one of our favourite events of the calendar year and one that helps ease the pain we feel as we wave goodbye to those long summer nights with an all-out crustacean invasion!
Returning to the award-winning Sean’s Kitchen at SkyCity for the month of April, Crab Carnivale is all about luxury wining and dining through a series of nightly specials that celebrate all things, well, crab, as you may have gathered.
Each year, Sean and his team alter the menu to ensure event return diners are delighted and surprised with what’s on offer and this year is no different.


For entrée, choose from Spanner Crab with zucchini flower and lemon cream & oil, Blue Swimmer Crab with smoked scamorza and potato bread or a soft-shell crab roll with chilli tomato jam. *drool*.
Mains consist of two choices: Crab cake schnitzel or Spanner Crab linguine and you can wash it all down with Bloody Crab-ulous Mary, which you guessed it, is a crabby take on everyone’s favourite spicy cocktail.
For those who have been in years past and had their lives changed by Sean’s infamous Blue Swimmer Crab Mac & Cheese, you’re in luck because it’s back. The dish has been so popular in the past that Sean thought it crazy to leave it off this year’s menu.

As always, the Tuesday and Thursday night specials are back with Louisiana Crab Boil taking over on Tuesdays and then Chilli Mud Crab the offer on Thursdays. If you’re coming for Thursday, which we highly recommend, you’ll need to give the restaurant at least 48 hours notice and come prepared to make a bit of a mess. (aka: don’t wear white).
