Shhh, Experience A Secret Food Destination In Adelaide At This Tasting Australia Event

Get amongst some of South Australia’s amazing produce when one of the tastiest food events on the calendar hits town next month…

We have a secret. There is a food destination in Adelaide that you need to know about (if you don’t already). Glynde is a unique food manufacturing destination full of flavour and delicious produce.

Get to know this tasty area of Adelaide’s northeast as it hosts the inaugural Taste Glynde event hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters as part of Tasting Australia (presented by Thomas Foods).

Enjoy product samples, food and wine and be treated to live cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, including the new Food Secrets of Glynde Ambassador, Salvatore Pepe, and Carmine and Lauren, the Adelaide team from My Kitchen Rules.

Put the wallet away because this is a free community event designed for people to discover some of the local food businesses, producers and manufacturers from the Glynde Precinct.

City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Mayor, Robert Bria, said the Council is excited and privileged to host Taste Glynde during Tasting Australia, as an opportunity to continue to promote the Glynde Precinct.

“Taste Glynde will bring a new dimension to the Tasting Australia program by showcasing the unique Glynde Precinct, which is home to many renowned and iconic South Australian businesses which produce premium quality products which are consumed all over the world,” said Mayor Bria.

“The event also coincides with the new release of the ‘Food Secrets of Glynde’ publication, which was originally produced by the Council in 2014,” he said.

Chef and restauranteur, Salvatore Pepe, is excited to be the new Ambassador for Glynde after discovering that many of the flavours of his Italian heritage are produced and manufactured within the Glynde Precinct.

“It is an honour to be named Ambassador for the ‘Food Secrets of Glynde’ and I am looking forward to showcasing these locally produced foods, many of which I already use in my own kitchen, at the Taste Glynde event,” said Salvatore.

In addition to samples, demonstrations, live music and entertainment, a highlight of the event will be the cooking classes for children aged 4-12 years, hosted by Sprout Cooking School Director’s, Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis. Tickets cost $10 per child and are available online at www.npsp.sa.gov.au/tasteglynde.
