Gluttony is overflowing this year with cuisines from around the world and flavours that will tantalise your tastebuds.
Among the delicious vendors with over 20 to choose from, is the Adelaide favourite Shibui Dessert Bar. With their brick-and-mortar location on Grote Street, Shibui Dessert Bar often pop-up in Rundle Mall and at other exciting festivals around town.
Now taking home in Gluttony for the Fringe period, festival goers can indulge in their delicious desserts pre, mid and post shows while soaking in the magic of Gluttony.
Serving up sugary treats from their bubble gum pink shipping container, Shibui is known for their mochi donuts and soft serves that not only taste like heaven but look it too and make cute pics that are often shared across social media.
You’ll be able to grab a bite of these treats in Gluttony, with soft serve flavours including vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel, red skin and mango.
Top your soft serve with a warm crispy mochi donut, fairy floss, toasted marshmallow or a pocky stick. There’s also Lotus Biscoff panna cotta with Biscoff sauce, and dark chocolate lava cake to indulge in too if you dare.
Shibui comes from owners Quang Nguyen, Lisa Chao, and Thy Nguyen.
After first appearing on our radar with Richmond’s Devour cafe and patisserie, Quang and Thy’s Shibui has been open and serving loyal customers since 2018. Thy spoke to us last year about must-try mochi donuts.
“Our mochi donuts are also so so so delicious; They’re nothing like a normal donut,” Thy says.
“They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and when drizzled with condensed milk and topped with powdered sugar, it’s for sure a crowd pleaser.”
