Shingleback Wine launches exclusive pairing experience Seafood on the Rocks

Dine out on an exclusive seafood menu, paired with some of Shingleback’s award-winning wines in a picturesque McLaren Vale setting.

McLaren Vale based Shingleback Wines have announced a new ‘WineFood’ experience which showcases exquisite seafood dishes, expertly paired with a selection of Shingleback’s premium wines. 

Seafood on the Rocks is not your standard a la carte experience, with revered Shingleback Chef Horst Berger personally hosting you and your party in the vineyard’s charming cellar door, also known as their tasting room, preparing fresh, exquisite seafood dishes right in front of your table.

Chef Horst will explain each dish, going through his preparation and cooking methods and talking your party through the flavour journey of each course. 

Each of the sauces accompanying the seafood dishes have been painstakingly created using reductions of Shingleback’s very own wines, done so to enhance the enjoyment of each sip and bite of your four course menu. 

One of the only McLaren Vale wineries offering a seafood experience, Shingleback’s intimate 18-person restaurant provides the tranquil setting for your dining experience, accented with old wooden beams and an uninterrupted view of the vineyards and beautiful gardens. 

The WineFood experiences, created by Shingleback’s incredible Chef Horst Berger, offer visitors the chance to taste a unique, four course wine-infused menu prepared in front of their table, using only the best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. 

Starting with a private visit to the atmospheric Shingleback Tasting Room, guests will be presented with a glass of bubbles and greeted by Chef Horst, before being guided through to Shingleback’s charming restaurant that offers a stunning view of the surrounding vines. 

Seated at Chef Horst’s custom-made table, the Seafood on the Rocks experience involves a feast of cold seafood canapés and tapas, followed by a spectacular fish main course and rounding off the culinary experience with an indulgent chocolate and Shiraz dessert plate.

Each course will be paired with a different Shingleback wine including the Davey Estate Fiano offering fresh peach flavours, the cranberry citrus notes of the Red Knot Rosé and the dark, long finish of the Davey Brother’s estates Shiraz. 

The experience costs $118 per person and booking is essential 

The Seafood on the Rocks experience is available at 12:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday
