Talented Head Chef, Adam Liston will be taking over the Stone’s Throw kitchen on Sunday March 19th for an all out Asian-inspired BBQ.
Liston has returned to Adelaide after a decade in both China and then Melbourne, where he ran the Collingwood institution, Northern Light.
It’s a reunion of sorts, with Stone’s Throw head chef Quentin Whittle having worked side by side with Liston at The Melting Pot (now The Pot Food & Wine) back in the day. Liston will be dishing up what he’s best at; yakitori, shashimi/raw dishes and BBQ, and Stone’s Throw will be providing the tunes, sake, whisky sours and highballs.
Liston has also joined the team at the New Japanese Restaurant Shòbòshò on Peel Street. With doors expected to open in March/April 2017, Shōbōshō will centre around the concept of ‘fire’ – and whilst not strictly Japanese, the menu will take inspiration from various Japanese ingredients and cooking styles, including yakitori (skewered chicken over charcoal) as well as other Asian influences including Chinese and Taiwanese. So you could say this lunch on Sunday will be a first taste of what’s to come from Shōbōshō.
Tickets to Sunday’s event are strictly limited, enquiries to [email protected] or 8333 1007.
