Mark Soderstrom (Soda) has announced on SAFM’s breakfast show Bec and Soda that he will be leaving the station. As of now, the station has not released an official statement about his exit or announced a potential replacement, leaving fans and listeners uncertain about the future of the show.

During the on-air announcement alongside his co-host Rebecca Morse, Soderstrom shared that recent changes in his life have presented him with one of the biggest challenges he has faced. He said that this decision was not simply a choice, but rather a necessity given his circumstances.

Soderstrom joined SAFM’s breakfast team at the start of 2023, stepping in to replace Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello, who departed the station in January of that year. Prior to this role, Soderstrom was a familiar voice on Mix 102.3, where he co-hosted the top-rated breakfast show for eight years before resigning in December 2021.

In addition to his radio work, Soderstrom has been a familiar face on television, regularly reporting sports for 7NEWS and covering Australian Rules football for Seven Sport.

As details surrounding his departure remain vague, listeners are left to speculate about the future direction of SAFM’s breakfast show. More information is expected to emerge soon.
