Showpony Impress With Bridgestone Commercial

showpony ad 3Showpony Advertising has garnered the admiration of Out Of This World expert Sputnik for their latest Bridgestone Tyre commercial.

"When we saw the latest Bridgestone ad we thought it looked like some ad shipped in from Europe somewhere. So you can imagine our surprise when we saw Showpony taking the credit for it. Yep, the new national TVC for Bridgestone’s flagship product ‘Turanza’ featuring dodgem cars was made right here in little old Adelaide" said Sputnik.

Creative Director Parris Mesidis said the agency was given the brief to produce a unique ad for the category that demonstrated key product attributes while still reflecting Bridgestone’s core brand values. The challenge didn’t end there, with the ad also required to have what Parris referred to as “multigenerational appeal”.

“Once we came up with the concept, wrote the thing and got client approval, we went to PRA with a storyboard and said "use your mojo and bring this ad to life”' he said. “We’d been keen to work with the guys for a while and this was a dream gig for a first collaboration.”

The collaborating didn’t end there. “Justin Astbury did a killer job on all the audio and Kade Marsh was a special guest Art Director who made sure everything looked super cool. We even had Paul Smith from Spirit Films as producer” Parris said.

The end result is a fusion of 2D and 3D animation that the agency and client were all very happy with. “It was an intense process and this style of animation wasn’t something we’d seen much of before, so the guys were kind of inventing as they went along but they more than met our expectations and the results were sweet.”
