Silver Brewing Co to launch new Silver Disco Club this Friday

The first of many Silver Brewing activations in the pipeline, owner Pete Vujic is launching the Silver Disco Club on Friday 6 May.

Did someone say disco club? You heard correctly! Gouger Street’s Silver Brewing Co is launching the Silver Disco Club this Friday night.

“We had a spare area where our fermenters are, so we’re turning it into a night-time space perfect for a disco room! We will be launching our disco weekly disco nights in our general area but will be moving into the new space mid-year,” said owner Pete Vujic.

Pete said that this weekend will be an exciting soft launch into Silver Brewing’s new disco nights, but a massive launch of the new disco room will be announced for either the June long weekend or the 18 June.

While the word ‘Disco’ does spark thoughts of Saturday Night Fever and the Bee-gees, new house DJ Ezee G has assured us that the music will be more ‘soulful house music’.

“I often play at Bank Street Social and the Lotus Lounge, so that will be the sort of music playing – not the bee-gees!” said George, AKA ‘Ezee G’.

Ezee G is one of Australia’s premier house DJs and producers and is a regular contributor to Fresh 92.7. After many years in the game, Pete hopes to tap into George’s extensive contact list and attract a bunch of local and international acts to the new Silver Disco Club.

“Ezee G is the main vocal point for the disco club, as well as other DJs and international acts. We’re also going to be releasing our own custom cocktails on the night, featuring our locally brewed and distilled beers and spirits,” said Pete.

The Silver Brewing Disco Club is going to be the first of many Silver Brewing activations in the pipeline, in an effort to bring life back to the CBD’s South-West.

“We plan to bring a bit of cabaret back into the CBD nightlife. I’ve contacted Choreographer Ben-Hur Winter to curate/style monthly cabaret performances,” said Pete. Inspired by Cabaret Voltaire (1916), Ben aims to bring together a fun line-up of artists and purveyors of contemporary, soulful cabaret.

“We’re talking to council now about launching a street party, and we’re also looking into doing Saturday Valhalla nights!”

The later will be Viking-inspired feasts, which Pete said will be a little more “rugged”.

“We want to do a big feast table! Pig on the spit, lamb on the spit… we’re also waiting on a woodfired pizza oven to arrive.”

While a lot of activations are on the go, but sure to check out Silver Brewing Co’s Disco Club on Friday 6 May from 9pm onwards.
