Simon Bryant hosting Tasting Australia Home Grown Gala Dinner

BryantTasting Australia’s 2010 premier dining event, The Home Grown Gala Dinner, styled by Simon Bryant (the ABC’s The Cook & The Chef) takes place on 29th April 2010 at the Hilton Adelaide with proceeds supporting the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation’s visionary Kitchen Garden in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

Bryant has crafted the 6 course dinner, with all produce locally sourced, to compliment a variety of limited release wines by Jacob’s Creek for gala guests’ gastronomic indulgence. Special guests in attendance will be local culinary and horticultural heroes Maggie Beer (the ABC’s The Cook & The Chef), Peter Cundall AM (horticulturalist and past presenter of the ABC’s Gardening Australia) Stephanie Alexander (cook, restaurateur and founder of the  Kitchen Garden  Foundation, Ian Parmenter (chef, wine maker and Festival Director of  Tasting Australia) and more.

With the Foundation’s other Ambassadors, Michael Keelan, Ian Parmenter and Youth Ambassador Daniel Lutz in attendance, the gala dinner hosted by Michael Keelan and Sophie Thomson will be a celebration of the flavours of South Australian produce  and  the joys of edible gardening .

Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation Director, Misha Prusa said “having just rediscovered my own veggie garden, I’m so excited to be involved with a project that can represent so many community values and educational opportunities”.

Bryant said “The Kitchen Garden in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens will be the place to learn and share how to grow a new or better edible garden.”

Tickets start from $200 (incl.GST) and are available from the Foundation Office, with more information available from the Foundation website www.abgf.org, including the specially discounted accommodation package from the Hilton Adelaide.
