Simon Tolley launches long lunch for Chardonnay May

While we’re still in the middle of epic Tasting Australia events, keep in mind that Chardonnay May is mere weeks away and tickets are selling out quick! From Friday 20 to Sunday 29 May, cellar doors throughout the Adelaide Hills showcase their incredible chardonnays with a range of tasting experiences.

One such event includes the Simon Tolley Long Lunch, which will be held on Saturday 28 May. The brand new Simon Tolly Cellar Door just celebrated its 1 year since opening. The venue features rustic and urban finishes, with polished concrete floors and award-winning luxury accommodation.

“The first year has had its ups and downs, but overall, it has been a fantastic experience and we’ve met a lot of wonderful people,” said Cellar Door Manager, Kate Lemay-Robbins.

“For Chardonnay may, we’ll be hosting our long lunch, where Simon will be running through five vintages.

“Each vintage is very different, as they are dependent on the weather. Fruit can vary on the climate, and as they age, the fruit develops further.

“[Simon Tolley Wines] is very fruit driven. Simon believes good wine starts in the vineyard. For us, it’s all about the quality of the fruit and minimal intervention.”

The Adelaide Hills’ cool climate creates flavours unique to this region of South Australia. All Simon Tolley wines are crafted, fermented, and bottled on the vineyard.

The five featured chardonnays are from Simon Tolley’s current and museum stock, paired with carefully curated complimentary dishes, prepared by a local chef.
