Simon Tolley unveils new sundeck and announces huge harvest hoedown for 2026

Simon Tolley Wines has launched a stunning new sundeck, unique tasting experiences and a calendar of community events, culminating in a country-themed Harvest Hoedown.

Tucked behind the rolling hills of Woodside, where gum trees shade rows of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir vines, the Simon Tolley estate has revealed a fresh new way to experience their stunning fifth-generation vineyard. With the launch of its brand-new sundeck, the family-owned property is inviting guests to discover a whole new perspective of the Adelaide Hills, one that’s framed by sweeping views, golden afternoon light and the charm of a working vineyard.

Designed to be best enjoyed at twilight, the sundeck gives guests an intimate front-row seat to the vines and space for up to 50 guests. Picture yourself on the deck under shady umbrellas, with a drink in hand, and a DJ spinning laidback sunset tracks. With nothing but vineyards and hills stretching out before you, this is the kind of spot you’ll want to sink into and stay awhile.

Those looking for an experience that goes beyond the glass will find one of the most unique wine tastings in the country here, too. Simon Tolley’s exclusive popcorn pairing takes wine appreciation to an unexpectedly fun and gourmet place, thanks to 18-year-old Samuel Weavers, founder of Sam’s Popcorn. Four wines are matched with four handcrafted popcorn flavours, from Sparkling Pinot Noir/Chardonnay with lemon cheesecake popcorn, to Estate Chardonnay paired with buttery, nostalgic kernels. Guided by the cellar door team the tasting dives into the theory behind the matches and may just inspire your next movie night line-up.

While the estate’s beloved Pinot and Pooch days are a proven favourite, drawing locals and their four-legged mates on the third Sunday of every month, there’s much more to explore onsite. Just a short stroll from the cellar door, the newly renovated Simon Tolley Lodge now sleeps up to ten guests and comes complete with three bathrooms, twin lounges, a bar, fireplace, complimentary tastings and generous discounts. They’ve also got plenty planned for the new year.

After the success of Savvy Beats in 2025, the team is gearing up for its return next year. But the big date for your diary is Valentine’s Day 2026, when the inaugural Simon Tolley Harvest Hoedown hits the estate. From 11am to 6pm, Brad Chicken & the Bootstraps will take the stage beside the sundeck, joined by line dancing demos from the Harrogate Hall crew and incredible bites from Señor Taco. With prizes for the best country-inspired outfit, you’ll want to pull out your rhinestones, boots and wide-brimmed hats.

To keep things easy, a local taxi service will ferry guests to and from Woodside Diner, where the after-party continues with barbecue plates and live music. It’s set to be a true Hills celebration, authentic, local, and crafted for community, just like the estate that’s hosting it.
