Sinclair’s Gully Celebrates Opening of Sparkling House

Sue and Sean Delaney of Sinclair’s Gully Wines are thrilled to announce the opening of their Adelaide Hills Sparkling House ‘THE RUBIDA ROOM'.

Sean said ‘The idea for the Sparkling Room came about after making the decision to specialize in sparkling wines and hand disgorge in small batches a number of years ago. Unlike larger commercial operations, we are in the unique position of offering a range of small batch recently disgorged (RD) wines to the sparkling wine lover, allowing the balance of each vintage to enjoy the full benefits of bottle age on lees. Our new sparkling room will enable us to provide unique, meaningful and authentic experiences for our guests, allowing us to really look after our wine club members who have followed and supported us over the years.'

Sean went on to say ‘We have had a lot of people following the build of the Rubida Room from the start. From the sourcing of the massive cypress pine 200X200 beams and recycled jarrah doors, through to the restoration of the 170 year old rise and fall lamps, the project has generated a great deal of interest and expectation. The Rubida Room has a number of functions but it is primarily a private and intimate facility to be used by our wine club members.‘

Sue said ’We are thrilled to officially release our 'Kyle' sparkling shiraz and 'Talia' sparkling blanc de blanc to launch the opening of the sparkling house. These two outstanding Adelaide hills’ sparklings join our highly acclaimed 94 point sparkling 'Rubida' which made James Halliday’s 2012 Top 40 Best Australian Sparkling Wines. We will be selling sparkling tasting flights to showcase our sparkling range. All of our sparkling wines are Methode Traditionelle bottle fermented wines, disgorged and dosaged by hand at cellar door. As a cool climate
area, arguably producing the country’s best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it stands to reason we should be producing sensational sparkling wines.’

TO CELBRATE THE OPENING OF THE RUBIDA ROOM, SINCLAIR’S GULLY IS HOSTING A NUMBER OF EVENTS STARTING ON AUSTRALIA DAY AND RUNNING OVER CRUSH – THE ADELAIDE HILLS WINE FESTIVAL.

AUSTRALIA DAY BUSH PICNIC & ART EXHIBITION. THURS 26 JANUARY 12-4PM

Activities throughout the afternoon will include whip cracking, thong tossing and Australian poetry reading. Guests are welcome to bring along an Aussie bush picnic to share with friends under the towering candlebark gums, as they tap their toes to bush music throughout the afternoon.

The 'Australia' art exhibition by local hills artist Hilary Brookes will be officially opened at 2pm, and will be on display in the Rubida Room every weekend from 26 January to 18 March 2012 between 12 & 4pm.

Local artist Hilary Brookes lived in the hills as a teenager and returned with her family to live at Norton Summit five years ago. Hilary's art has blossomed since moving to the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Finding inspiration in her natural surroundings and the native fauna which abounds in the area, Hilary has developed and focussed her talent in bringing to life some of the lesser known native locals. Through this impressive body of work, Hilary engages the viewer with the beauty and character of her subject.

So dust off your akubra and RMs and head for Sinclair’s Gully to celebrate the opening of Sinclair’s Gully’s new sparkling house on Australia Day. Don’t forget to bring along a picnic and your favourite Aussie poem to share. It’s going to be a fabulous afternoon! Book your table on 83901995 or [email protected]
