Vino lovers, this one’s for you- The Urban Wine Walk is returning to Adelaide this November for one day only.
Throughout the streets and laneways of Adelaide’s East End, a line-up of local venues will transform into an Urban Cellar Door and host a winemaker for you to visit, so prepare to get swirling and sip some grapey goods.
The Urban Wine Walk is a self-guided wine-tasting experience, allowing you to go wherever you want, whenever you want. You can set your own pace- make it your mission to visit all 10 venues, or choose a handful that tickle your fancy and take a more relaxing approach.
What about the bus, you ask? Well, there isn’t one! Venues are within easy walking distance of each other with a series of tastings available at each destination from a range of wineries. On the day, simply choose which venue you’d like to start from and off you go.
Wine-walkers can explore many varietals of South Australia’s wines without the fussy coordination of transport and designated drivers. This way, no one has to miss out- you can save on Uber rides and soak up the street-walk atmosphere.
The ‘choose your own adventure’ style event is designed for groups of friends to enjoy a Saturday afternoon out together. And with the warmer weather finally upon us, what better opportunity to get your wine-loving gang together for a memorable day of leisurely wine tasting?
“Our events are like a reverse wine weekender. Instead of having to travel hours to visit wineries, Urban Wine Walk brings those cellar doors to the cities. We aim to program as many risk-taking, next-gen and independent winemakers as we can – and introduce them to new, receptive audiences,” Urban Wine Walk founder Josh Starick says.
“With the flexibility to explore at your leisure, it’s a guaranteed fun day out, for winemakers and wine-walkers alike.”

Due to the nature of the Urban Wine Walk, the traditional menus at these locations may vary- so if you’re a regular, expect to see something a bit different.
Your ticket will entitle you to all the fun throughout the afternoon, including complimentary wine tastings, a $10 food voucher to spend at your nominated starting venue, a $25 voucher for event day wine orders, and an official event wristband and tasting glass.
On the day, before making your way to the starting location specified on your ticket you will need to collect your event wristbands, tasting glasses and vouchers from The Howling Owl (10 Vaughan Pl) between 11am to 1pm.
