Get ready to dance, eat, and immerse yourself in the vibrancy of Mexico, as Adelaide gears up for Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Over the weekend of May 4 and May 5, and beyond, various venues throughout Adelaide will join in the grand fiesta, hosting an array of festivities showcasing Mexican culture. We’ve found six Cinco de Mayo events across the state that promise a good time!
Neon Lights Sugar Skull Paint & Sip at Sazón
Step into a world of luminescence at Sazóns’ Cinco De Mayo celebration where UV lights and neon paints collide. They will be hosting a night of vibrant artistry where guests can paint glow-in-the-dark sugar skulls on canvas, under the guidance of experienced instructors. Accompanied by drinks and the electric atmosphere of Mexican restaurant Sazón, it’s sure to be a fun night! Tickets include a two-hour painting session with all supplies provided, plus a take-home canvas.

Mia Margarita $10 paloma cocktails
To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Henley Beach’s popular Mexican restaurant Mia Margarita will be serving $10 paloma cocktails all day, Mexico’s most popular cocktail (tequila-based). They’ll also be serving up their typical Mexican fusion dishes, like tacos, quesadillas and nachos, that can be paired with other delicious cocktails, including, margaritas. The two level venue on the beachside with an outdoor dining area means that guests can view the sunset while sipping on their drinks, with latin music playing. It doesn’t get more Mexican than this!

Mamacita Restaurant and Bar & TRYP Hotel Adelaide Fiesta and Siesta package
Start your Cinco de Mayo off right at Mamacita Bar and Restaurant with a delicious breakfast, including classics like eggs benedict, or fuel up with a breakfast burrito. For lunch, indulge in a spread of empanadas, enchiladas, and more. Come evening, they will have classic Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, complemented by their extensive five-page hot sauce menu. Merrymaker Rooftop Bar Fiesta – SOLD OUT
Adelaide’s highest rooftop bar, Merrymaker, is gearing up to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a five-course banquet showcasing the best of South Australian ingredients. They will have a live DJ to keep the fiesta alive, plus refreshing cerveza-style beers and authentic tequila from Agave Australis, transforming the rooftop into a vibrant carnival atmosphere atop the city skyline.

Bowden Brewing Cinco De Mayo event
To celebrate Cinco De Mayo, Bowden Brewing encourage people to “come sinko some beeros” and revel in the festive atmosphere with a spectacular fiesta. They will have Spanish tunes, Mexican drink specials, spicy beer roulette, piñatas filled with candy and beer, lotteria, and traditional Mexican street food from the MASA Kitchen. Plus, entry is free!

Wharf Barrel Shed’s Mexican fiesta
Wharf Barrel Shed in Goolwa are hosting a vibrant two-day, three-session Mexican fiesta for Cinco de Mayo, on the weekend of May 25 and May 26. Guests can indulge in drink and food specials during the day, before a spectacular six-course Mexican dinner at night, crafted by Cinders + Soul and accompanied by live music from Latin Jam. Reservations are essential for all sessions!
