Local Bands To Open Superloop Adelaide 500 Concerts

Beating out tough competition, these six local acts are set to share the stage with some of music’s best.

Six South Australian acts will perform in the Superloop Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series, opening for some of the biggest names in international and Australian music.

The winners of the annual Bands on Track competition will be sharing the stage with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Jet, The Living End, Vance Joy and Amy Shark.

Now in its ninth year, the Bands on Track initiative is the result of an ongoing collaboration between Music SA and the Superloop Adelaide 500.

With fierce competition in 2019, an all-time record 280 acts submitted entries, which were then judged by a panel of music industry representatives.

Out on top were local bands Tales, Delia Obst, Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band, Burnside Mums, The Montreals and Zen Panda.

Music SA’s Chief Executive Lisa Bishop is delighted that the Bands on Track partnership is returning for another year to support South Australian musicians and was thrilled to see a record number of entries in 2019.

“This is a rare career defining opportunity for local artists to perform on a large stage, to a highly receptive crowd, with an outstanding level of technical production and the support of national and international headliners.”
