A sizzling new hot pot restaurant is set to heat up Adelaide’s inner north, opening its doors in Lightsview Village next week.
100 Degree Hot Pot will bring the traditional self-serve hot pot experience to life, allowing diners to personally choose their ingredients, from fresh vegetables, to premium meats and seafood, and unique delights. Once all of the fresh ingredients have been selected, it will be cooked to perfection by the brilliant chefs, offering a choice between a flavourful soup or a delicious stir-fry.
“We found that hot pot is quite a trend right now, people love it because they get to create their own combinations,” says 100 Degree Hot Pot Co-Owner, Mily, joined by fellow co-owners, Wendy and Sam.
Hot pot has indeed become a sensation in Adelaide, with many places located in both the CBD and suburbs. What will set 100 Degree apart is their exceptional range of hot pot soup bases. Diners can choose from four distinct flavours: Malatang hot and spicy, kimchi surprise, a hearty laksa, and a mushroom broth, for vegetarians.
For the stir-fry option, diners can choose between a fiery hot and spicy sauce, or a savoury peanut satay sauce. To complement the hot pot experience, 100 Degree Hot Pot will have a selection of authentic Chinese drinks, perfect for if you’ve added a little too much spice to your bowl.
For those with a sweet tooth that crave something sugary after their meal, the restaurant will excitingly feature a self-serve ice cream station. Guests can choose from two flavours which will rotate each month, and top their creations with different popular bubble tea-style toppings such as lychee jelly and tapioca pearls.
With the final touches currently being added, the restaurant’s interior is designed to be cheerful and inviting for customers, with a yellow theme throughout.
The team behind 100 Degree Hot Pot bring a wealth of knowledge from their existing restaurant, New Century, at Mawson Lakes. Known for its delicious Asian classics like spring rolls, dumplings, and wok-fried dishes, New Century has built a loyal following, and with support behind them, the team are now ready to embark on something new.
Bringing their popular sauces from New Century to 100 Degree Hot Pot, diners will be able to mix and match their favourite ingredients and flavours for a truly customised and personal dining experience.
Hot pot is a dish that can be enjoyed in both summer and winter, making 100 Degree Hot Pot a year-round destination. As Lightsview awaits for the grand opening of the restaurant, the community can look forward to a sizzling hot new spot to visit with friends, and enjoy the interactive and delicious experience of hot pot dining.
