Adelaide’s theatre calendar is looking bigger and better than ever before in 2026, and SkyCity Adelaide is ready to take your night out to the next level.

With major productions like Anastasia and The Book of Mormon set to light up the stage at the Festival Theatre later this year, SkyCity Adelaide is positioning itself as the city’s ultimate pre-theatre dining spot, offering something for every type of foodie.

Located along the Riverbank precinct, overlooking the recently refurbished Festival Theatre, SkyCity Adelaide’s collection of restaurants and bars makes it easy to turn a night at the theatre into a full evening out.

For lovers of Southeast Asian flavours, Madame Hanoi has curated a pre-theatre feast that’s designed to impress. Available Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 7pm, the $59 banquet includes favourites like Szechuan tofu bao, mini beef pho, and pork belly fried rice, all expertly timed to get you to your seat before the curtain rises.

If refined Chinese sounds like your kind of thing, Huami delivers an elevated experience that’s every bit as theatrical as the show itself. The stunning dining room, inspired by Cantonese opera, offers gorgeous views across Festival Plaza and the Festival Theatre.

Its Nectar Banquet is available Thursday to Sunday for $88 per person, and features standout dishes like honey-glazed pork char siu, crispy Tabasco prawns, Yangzhou fried rice, and an unforgettable dessert dumpling inspired by xiao long bao.

For something a little more relaxed, iTL brings contemporary Italian dining to Festival Plaza. Starting from $65 for two courses, guests can enjoy antipasti, a choice of wood-fired pizza or house-made pasta, plus a drink. Add dessert for an extra $10, because theatre calories simply don’t count.

The Kitchen also has an approachable pre-show menu featuring modern Australian share plates and mains, with two courses from $79 including a drink.

And if you’re simply after cocktails with a view, SOL Rooftop remains one of Adelaide’s premier rooftop destinations. With panoramic views across the Riverbank and Festival Plaza, it’s the ideal place to start the evening with small plates and a signature cocktail.

For weekday diners, SkyCity’s happy hour also adds extra appeal, with $7 selected beer, house wine, and spirits available from 4pm to 6pm across several bars, including Chandelier Bar, The District, Westward and The Guardsman.

So if you’ve already got a show pencilled into your calendar, or are thinking of heading to a Broadway blockbuster, a ballet, or a live concert, SkyCity Adelaide is making sure your pre-show plans are sorted.
