SkyCity Adelaide is rolling out the red carpet for foodies with their new ‘Culinary Excursion’ – a four-course progressive dinner through four of their award-winning restaurants. The exclusive experience will be hosted every Thursday evening through till December 19th.
After getting to experience the excursion ourselves, our top tip is to arrive with a huge appetite, because you’re going to be eating a lot good food. The evening begins at Madame Hanoi with a glass of Penfolds champagne and small plates like a coconut cured kingfish with shiso leaves, green mango and crispy chilli. From there, you’ll move to The Kitchen for rustic South Australian entrees, including freshly shucked oysters, paired with a Penfolds Riesling.
Next on the itinerary is iTL, where you’ll enjoy a generous selection of homemade pastas and wood-fired pizzas, complimented by a glass of Penfolds Shiraz. The grand finale is at SOL Rooftop bar, where you will enjoy the most spectacular views of Adelaide, while indulging in a luxurious SOL chocolate bar that is filled with delicious goodness, paired with either Penfolds signature cocktail espresso ‘Mar-Tawny’ or a Penfolds Sour.
At each of the four restaurants, SkyCity can cater to any dietary needs. Whether you are dairy-free or have an allergy, they’ll prepare special dishes just for you that are as delicious as the regular offerings. While the menu and excursion path are subject to seasonal changes, you can count on a spectacular experience no matter what.

As part of the experience, each guest gets their own Culinary Excursion menu to take along, which is stamped at each restaurant stop. It’s a fun little touch to the evening, as it keeps you actively involved. While there’s plenty of time to sit and chat with your fellow diners, you’ll be guided through the experience by SkyCity’s team, so if you find yourself deep in conversation, they’ll give you a nudge when it’s time to move on to the next stop.
A hot tip for your adventure: bring a jacket! While the view from SOL is spectacular, things can get pretty chilly being nine levels up, even with the cozy fire pit up there. And because you’ll be moving from place to place, comfort is key. Dress up, but make sure you’re ready to roll out the door feeling comfortably full.
