Glenelg is about to get a fiery upgrade with the upcoming arrival of 18th St Hotpot, an exciting new restaurant that promises to bring a unique dining experience to the beachside community.

Currently in the design phase, this vibrant hotpot venue is set to rise on the corner of Jetty Rd and Colley Tce. Transforming the abandoned lot in a prime location into a sleek 90m² culinary haven that will have locals and visitors eagerly awaiting its grand opening, which is still to be confirmed.
Designed with a modern flair, 18th St Hotpot features sculpted concrete seating and striking fiery red detailing, creating an inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for gathering with friends and family. The space will be adorned with quirky signage that adds a playful touch, leading guests through a hotpot adventure that’s sure to delight.

Just like the CBD and Chinatown location, 18th Street will offer over 80 fresh ingredients to choose from. You can enjoy the usual hot pot favourites, or if you’re feeling brave, a range of somewhat unfamiliar ingredients, including duck blood, fish ball with roe, or winter melon are also available. Whether you’re a hotpot aficionado or trying it for the first time, 18th St Hotpot aims to provide a fun and interactive dining experience that’s perfect for any occasion.
Choose one of three broth types – mild, medium and hot, allows for a fully personalised experience. If you’re like me and can’t handle heat, not to worry! The mild option has been created with us in mind, and you won’t sacrifice any of the sensational flavours. For those who can take it, the more fiery options are said to be next-level.

Faculty Design designed the venue concept and Creative Molly Bell says the look is in line with the franchise’s branding but with an added flair.
“We wanted to make it a casual space with a relaxed vibe,” she said.
The centrepiece of the restaurant will be a stunning dragon mural, designed by artist Malicious Delicious, which promises to capture the imagination and set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Coupled with floating wavey banded pendant lighting which are “a subtile nod to the beach” according to Molly. The ambiance promises to be both lively and warm, making it an ideal spot to unwind while enjoying a delicious meal and enjoying the beachside views.

Run by the same owners as the Chinatown venue, the beachside location offers a scenic backdrop for diners to enjoy while savouring their meals. Imagine indulging in a bubbling pot of flavours just steps from the beautiful Glenelg shoreline.

Utilising the natural light with floor to ceiling windows, Molly said the venue will offer a great year-round option for locals and visitors alike.
“It’s overlooking Mosley Square, we want to make sure people still get to soak in the beachside views,” she said.
“We are expecting it’ll get busy – everyone loves hotpot!”
As construction progresses, excitement is building for the grand opening of 18th St Hotpot. In the meantime, visit the Chinatown location for a taste of what’s in store.
With its fresh concept and stunning design, this hotpot spot is set to become a must-visit destination.
