SNEAK PEEK: New Henley Beach cafe ‘Santi’s’ opening by Alimentary Eatery owners

The owners of the popular ‘Alimentary Eatery’ and ‘The Alchemist’s Kitchen’ are back again with a new business venture in the works – a café in Henley Square called ‘Santi’s’.

The menu will feature signature pizzas with a twist and a refined à la carte brunch, blending the best of both parent venues.

Owner Deeb Miky shares the inspiration behind the new café, saying, “We are thrilled to be opening up Santi’s, our third venue. When the opportunity for a third venue arose, we wanted to incorporate our existing two venues into the third and came to the conclusion it was like a third child to us – Santiago.”

“For anyone who has read the book The Alchemist, you will know Santiago is a little boy on his personal journey and the main character of the book,” he continued.

Santi’s is situated on prime real estate, nestled between Bottega Gelateria and Zambrero on the ever-busy Seaview Road.

The café is set to become a summertime staple for locals to grab a quick bite or a juice to go, or the place to fill up after a day at the beach.

Inspired by The Alchemist’s Kitchen’s pizza and Alimentary Eatery’s coffee window, Santi’s design combines functionality and aesthetics.

The venue maximises space with the front quarter of the area dedicated to takeaway orders, while the remainder will offer an à la carte dining experience.

The indoor area will accommodate around 30 people, with an internal and external courtyard catering to a further 20 people, providing space for group bookings, families, and intimate coffee dates.

“We have a really good relationship with our landlord and when this location became available, he came straight to us – it was more a case of the location finding us and the rest falling into place,” Deeb said.

“Our vision for Santi’s is to become a home for locals where they can have brunch, lunch, or pick up a good coffee.”

The couple is currently project-managing the build themselves and aiming to officially open their doors by mid-August.

Once open, they plan to continue adding to the space and hope to create a beautifully curated environment that can be hired out for evening functions such as birthdays or baby showers.
