Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries (EMS), one of SA’s favourite snorkel tour guides, has once again delivered the goods, announcing its next extraordinary adventure at Port Willunga Beach.

On February 12, explore the underwater resting place of the shipwreck ‘Star of Greece’ – the remnants of one of South Australia’s worst maritime disasters.

In July 1888, a fatal storm split the three-masted ship in two, a mere 200 metres from shore! For almost 134 years, the Star of Greece has been a story of tragedy and many relics are still viewable at the South Australia Maritime Museum.

But for those who have dreamed of witnessing this slice of South Australian history in person, here is your opportunity. Join accredited snorkel leaders, shipwreck historians and marine biologists as they guide you through the 90-minute snorkeling experience.

This tour requires fitness and confidence in the water, as there is a 600m beach walk involved, followed by a 120m swim out to the wreck.

EMS will provide you with a wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins. As the tour will be led into waters no deeper than 5m, the tour is suitable for children 5 years and above who are confident swimmers.

An immersive wheelchair, modified wetsuits and extra flotation devices can be provided if requested, so no one will miss out!

Tickets are $59 for adults, $39 for students and concession holders, or $179 for a family of 4.

Book your tickets here before they sell out!
