Last night, Adelaide was treated to a one night only spectacular, for the launch of the 2019 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
The House is Live, was held at the gorgeous, historical Thebarton Theatre, where guests had the opportunity to see special performers who were here exclusively for the festival opening event.
Australian cabaret icon Meow Meow enchanted audiences, at her only Adelaide Cabaret Festival performance, alongside Adelaide Cabaret Festival favourites Paul Capsis, Reuben Kaye and Queenie van de Zandt.
Newcomers to the cabaret world also performed, including spoken word artist Omar Musa, Triple J Roots N All presenter Nkechi Anele and jazz chanteuse Alma Zygier.
Led by Artistic Director Julia Zemiro, and peppered with love for Cabaret’s past, present and future, the night set the tone for what looks to be, a brilliant festival.
