SOL Rooftop celebrates new Penfolds Champagne with food, fashion, and exclusive stays

SOL Rooftop at SkyCity is celebrating the launch of a new Penfolds Champagne with exclusive dining options, hotel packages and fashion events.

SOL Rooftop at SkyCity is celebrating the launch of the new Penfolds Cuvee Brut NV Champagne from now until November 24th, with exclusive dining options, hotel packages and fashion events.

The celebration honours Penfolds’ 180th anniversary, as the South Australian winemaker partners with family-owned Champagne House Thiénot to launch the new Penfolds Cuvee Brut NV Champagne. This collaboration reflects Penfolds’ strong connections to France and its long-standing fascination with Champagne.

The new Cuvee Brut NV is crafted from a blend of premium Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes from the Champagne region in France. With a fresh and lively taste, it’s perfect for the spring season.

“Day to night, inside and out, Penfolds and SOL will be shaking up the look and feel of the rooftop,” SkyCity Adelaide’s Signature Outlets Manager and Head Sommelier, Jimmy Parham, said.

“Penfolds wines have long had pride of place on our beverage list, and this spring, you’ll see them featured throughout the dining experience as well.”

Alongside the new Champagne, SOL Rooftop will offer a spring dining menu featuring four exclusive Penfolds-infused dishes. Head Chef Raj Kumar has created unique options such as Penfolds Max’s Rose oyster shooters, quail in sticky red wine jus, Teys red wine short ribs, and a SOLBAR chocolate dessert with red wine-infused cherries.

The SOL Rooftop High Tea, available Sundays from 1pm to 3pm, will also incorporate a Penfolds touch. Guests will get to enjoy a glass of Cuvee Brut NV Champagne upon arrival, along with a limited-time menu featuring crisp duck mousse with Penfolds Max’s Rose jelly and Champagne-pickled beetroot with goat cheese and red wine spiced honey.

From the bar, two new cocktails designed by SkyCity’s mixology team will be featured: ‘The Penfolds Sour,’ a mix of bourbon, lemon, and Bin 28 Shiraz, and ‘The Penfolds Royale,’ combining elderflower and orange with Cuvee Brut NV Champagne.

There will be a special fashion event on Friday October 11th during ADL Fashion Week, where Penfolds will partner with South Australian label Acler for an exclusive runway show. Here, guests will enjoy canapés, a complimentary glass of Champagne, and Q&A with Acler’s founders, Kathryn Forth and Julia Ritorto.

For those wanting to extend their experience, Eos by SkyCity hotel is offering exclusive stay packages in partnership with Penfolds Magill Estate. Each package provides a uniquely South Australian experience, featuring a Penfolds Grange tasting for two at SOL Rooftop and access to the world-class relaxation facilities at Eos Spa + Wellness, and a tasting experience at Penfolds Magill Estate.
