Epic sunrise disco hits Adelaide shores next week set to bring electrifying energy

Join the sunrise disco Dawnbreak hitting Adelaide next week for an electrifying morning of music, fun, and inclusivity by the beach.

Picture this, you’re at a dance party on the beach. Your body sways to the sound of eurphoric house beats and the subtle hum of the waves hitting the shore. The moon slowly sets and and the sun takes the stage. Sand between your toes, clear mind, and surrounded by people just having a good time.

That’s exactly what Dawnbreak is and, after several sold-out parties in Perth, it’s on tour and hitting the Glenelg shore next week.

Event organiser Shannon O’Connor – also known as DJ Shann – says the party is all about inclusivity and energy.

“Dawnbreak is pure eurphora- a sober inclusive and electrifying way to start the day. It feels like you’re truly living in the moment.”

“We wanted to create an experience that wakes people up in the best way possible – through connection, music and movement.”

The decision to launch the event follows a trend of more health conscious Aussies trading in the late nights for a good eight hours and early morning physical activity. Imagine that?

“We’re seeing this huge shift in culture with run clubs, early morning coffee, DJ sets at cafes. There’s a real shift into more of a wellness-focused society,” says Shannon.

For Shannon, the early rise and booze free event creates a different energy. One that’s guilt free and euphoric, and welcomes everyone.

“I used to DJ until the sun comes up and you feel a bit guilty at that point, but when the sun comes up because you’ve woken up early and you’re at a morning dance party, it feels like the signal of a new day. It’s just a really nice energy,” he says.

“While its primarily designed for adults, we’ve seen parents bring their kids along and we have groovers of all ages. It’s an event where everyone feels welcome.”

All party goers get a headset so you’re completely immersed in the music and detached from the outside world.

“[The headset’s] create an immersive and inhibited atmosphere, where people sing, dance and move freely, releasing plenty of endorphins,” he explains.

It’s just you, the house beats, the beach, and the rest of the party vibing to the same jams. Sounds like the perfect antidote to social anxiety.

The party kicks off at 5:30am, but it’s recommended to come at 5am so you’re ready to groove as the sun starts to rise. There will be a pre-dance connection session for the chance to connect with fellow groovers and a post-dance dip in the ocean for a refreshing start to the day – who needs an alarm?

And, of course, no morning activity is complete without a good coffee, so the event will wrap up at a nearby cafe.
