The highly anticipated 2025 Hostplus SANFL Women’s League Grand Final is set to take place this Sunday at Stratarama Stadium, where Woodville-West Torrens will clash with South Adelaide. This will see two of the season’s strongest teams go head-to-head in pursuit of the prestigious title and an electric end to the season.

Woodville-West Torrens, enjoying their first finals series, is keen to secure their very first premiership under the guidance of Narelle Smith. The team has shown remarkable improvement this season, emerging from three years of finishing seventh to contesting in the Grand Final. Narelle, who was also named coach of the 2025 The Advertiser SANFLW Team of the Year, leads a skilled roster that includes five players who made it into the Team of the Year, Christina Leuzzi, Imogen Trengove, Klaudia O’Neill, Maia Freemantle, and Lucy Moore.

South Adelaide is aiming to add another trophy to its collection, potentially claiming its fourth SANFLW premiership. Having triumphed in 2018, 2019, and recently in 2024, the team is no stranger to the pressures of a Grand Final. Rick Watts, a dual premiership coach, leads South Adelaide’s charge featuring influential Team of the Year players such as Soriah Moon, Jaslynne Smith, Taya Maxwell, Emma Charlton, and acting captain Tiffany King.

The competition between these teams throughout the season has been tight, with both teams facing each other three times this year. Woodville-West Torrens managed two wins, including a nail-biting one-point victory in the Second Semi-Final.

Matt Duldig, SANFL Executive General Manager Football, shared, “With over 11,000 female participants in SA across community football, Auskick and Superkick, the Hostplus SANFLW Grand Final is a great opportunity to celebrate and showcase girls’ footy in this State.”

The Grand Final will be televised live and free on Seven and 7Plus, with additional streaming available on SANFL Now and live radio on 1629 SEN SA & the SEN App. Continuous support from media partners makes sure that the game reaches a wide audience, celebrating women’s football across South Australia.

“Once again we’re thrilled to have the support of both the Seven Network and SEN for the grand final, a terrific opportunity to maximise exposure for our women’s football in South Australia,” said Matt.

While it’s sure to be a very exciting sporting spectacle, this is a fantastic celebration of female football. Attendees of the Grand Final can look forward to a festival atmosphere at the Stratarama Stadium. The day will include the SANFL Super Match activations, offering everything from family zones with mini-golf and giant games to inflatable footy skills games. Fans will also have the opportunity to participate in the AAMI Kick for Cash competition during the half-time break, possibly winning $1000.
