South Aussie distilleries, 78 Degrees, Kangaroo Island Spirits and Seven Seasons, have been recognised in one of the biggest international awards competitions, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
Considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious spirits competitions, the SFWSC is noted both for the quality of its judges, many of whom are renowned experts in their fields, with decades of industry experience, and the scope of the different spirit categories that it judges.
Competing against thousands of distilleries all over the world, the team at 78 Degrees received eight medals overall including a Double Gold medal for its Sunset Gin as well as Gold Medals for its Desert Gin, Bitter Orange, and Apple Brandy.
Their popular Classic Gin and Native Grain Whiskey won Silver Medals while their Australian Whiskey and Muscat Finish Whiskey received bronze.
Kangaroo Island Spirits, highly regarded for its use of Australian native ingredients, won six awards with gold medals awarded for its O’Gin and Whisky Barrel Aged Gin while the Wild Gin, Old Tom Gin, Mulberry Gin and Koala 48 Gin received silver.
Seven Seasons Spirits also won two medals including silver for Green Ant Gin and bronze for Bush Apple Gin.
