South Australia announces Minister Dan van Holst Pellekaan as Deputy Premier

The South Australian Liberal House of Assembly party room elected Minister Dan van Holst Pellekaan as Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, this afternoon.

South Australia has a new Deputy Premier. 

The South Australian Liberal House of Assembly party room elected Minister Dan van Holst Pellekaan as Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, this afternoon. 

Dan who has been a Cabinet Minister since 2018 is described as “hardworking” and “conscientious” by his colleagues. 

Minister Van Holst Pellekaans election comes four days after The Honourable Vickie Chapman MP stepped down from her position as Deputy Premier.

Minister Van Holst Pellekaans has provided strong leadership for South Australia’s energy and mining sectors that employ more than 49,000 South Australians, generate over $320 million of royalties per annum and contribute $8.7 billion to the State’s economic output in 2020.

The State Government’s focus has always been, and continues to be, keeping South Australians safe, our economy strong and creating as many jobs as possible as we transition to a new Covid normal.

Premier Steven Marshall said he is looking forward to working with him closely on delivering the things that matter most to the people of South Australia.
